Before you choose
- The surface underneath must be firm and level, and water must be able to drain away. On terraces, we check the slope.
- Artificial grass can get warm in strong afternoon sun. Shade or a quick rinse cools it down.
- Keep barbecues, firecrackers and hot items off the grass — heat can melt the fibres.
- Brush it now and then to keep the blades upright, and rinse off dust.

Rainwater drains through small holes in the backing, so the grass dries quickly. The surface underneath needs to let the water run off.
Sweep or brush off leaves and dust, and rinse it with water now and then. Wipe up spills with mild soap and water.
