Curtain Rods

Curtain rods are decorative poles fixed to the wall above the window, held by brackets and finished at each end with a finial. Unlike a hidden track, a rod is on show — so its material, finish and finials become part of your room's design.

Why Choose It

Why choose Curtain Rods

Metal and wooden rods with matching brackets and finials, in finishes to suit your interiors.

A design detail

Metal and wooden rods with matching brackets and finials add a finishing touch to the window.

Finishes to match

Pick a finish that goes with your door handles, light fittings or furniture.

Many curtain styles

Hang curtains with rings, eyelets or hooks, depending on the look you want.

Fixed firmly

Brackets are fixed securely into the wall and spaced so the rod doesn't sag.

Good To Know

Before you choose

  • Rods suit straight runs. For bay or corner windows, a bendable curtain track is usually the better choice.
  • Long rods need a centre bracket to stop them sagging. Curtain rings can't pass it, so the curtains are made as two panels that open from the middle.
  • Fixing the rod higher and wider than the window makes the window look bigger and lets the curtains open fully off the glass.

Between the top of the window and the ceiling — often closer to the ceiling — and wider than the window on both sides. This makes the window look taller and wider, and lets the curtains open fully off the glass.

Yes, if the rod is thick enough and has enough brackets. For heavy velvet or blackout curtains we use a sturdier rod and add a centre bracket on wide windows.

Decorative rods are drawn by hand. For curtains that open with a remote or an app, choose a motorized curtain track instead.
